Matia Press is an independent hybrid publisher specializing in fiction, creative nonfiction, and poetry. We help selected authors bring their books to readers across languages, cultures, and international readership. 

We are not a vanity press and do not operate a pay-to-publish scheme. Every manuscript is reviewed for quality and alignment with our publishing vision, which covers a niche audience.

Authors whose books are accepted for publication pay a transparent flat fee of €600, which covers the agreed publishing services, including editorial feedback, proofreading, copyediting, custom cover design, and technical help with setting up Amazon and Blurb accounts. There are no hidden costs or add-on services.

Matia Press also offers individual services for a reasonable fee—such as proofreading, editing, translation, and custom book cover design—to authors who are not publishing with us. Purchasing one of these services does not automatically mean that Matia Press has accepted or will publish the book.

We publish print-on-demand books and e-books in English and Romanian. Our publishing services support authors throughout the entire book publication process, including editorial preparation, book design, formatting, and publication.

Matia Press is supported by an experienced team of writers, poets, editors, artists, and visual arts professionals with extensive backgrounds in publishing, literature, book production, and creative practice. 

Our multilingual literary blog publishes short fiction, creative nonfiction, and poetry in English, Arabic, and Romanian for free.

We are committed to freedom of expression, intellectual openness, artistic independence, and the publication of thoughtful, original literature.
